Implementation of Heterogeneous High-bandwidth and Low-latency Mobile Applications with Low-cost Commercial Equipment for 5G networks

(in English) There is a consensus that 5G wireless system supports three types
of services classified as enhanced mobile broadband (eMBB),
ultra-reliable low-latency communications (URLLC), and massive
machine-type communications (mMTC). However, there is still no
widely deploying of such mobile applications due to the lack of
commercial equipment with 5G communication or the cost of 5G
equipment is still too high for commercial usage. In this paper,
we present the deployment of heterogeneous high-bandwidth and
low-latency mobile applications with low-cost commercial
equipment. In our design, we analyze and extend the WiFi coverage
with 5G communication so that can remotely control and monitor
commercial WiFi equipment (such as, cameras or drones). We have
verified our design with a field test in which a remote monitoring
system uses an underwater drone to monitor the status of fishing
ground from a remote location, which can reduce the burden of
workers in fisheries industry. The experimental results show that
our system could be a low-cost solution to deploy 5G mobile
applications.
