Development of Traffic Monitoring System for Network Virtualization with Hardware Accelerator

(in English) With the development of virtualization technologies such as NFV / SDN, various services using virtual machines (VMs) and the like have been proposed. In order to provide and operate those services. It is necessary to perform detailed monitoring and analysis for each VM, not for each server node, in real time. Therefore, we developed a real-time virtualized traffic monitoring system with built-in hardware accelerator using a general-purpose server and FPGA. This system enables flow identification in virtualized environments, VM failure detection, jitter and latency measurement. Hardware (FPGA) implementation of high-load packet processing enables high speed (10 Gbps) and microburst detection.
