Radio Propagation Extrapolation Based on Correction of Empirical CDF

(in English) In this paper, we propose a radio propagation extrapolation method based on the correction of an empirical cumulative distribution function (CDF) of the received signal power. As the high estimation method of radio propagation, a measurement-based path loss model and a radio environment map (REM) attract attention. However, the estimation accuracy of the radio environment is degraded if the received signal power samples cannot be demodulated due to the interferences from the other cells. The database server should extrapolate the missing received signal power based on a mathematical method. Therefore, in this paper, we propose the radio propagation extrapolation method based on the correction of an empirical CDF of the received signal power. In the proposed method, the sensor nodes observe the received signal power in each location and report this information to the database server. Then, the database server corrects the empirical CDF of the received signal power in each mesh considering the number of missing samples and extrapolates the median of the received signal power. The emulation results using 3.5GHz band datasets show that the proposed method can accurately estimate the median of the received signal power comparing with the non-extrapolated method and a multiple imputation method.
