For mobile vehicles like trains and automobiles, it is important for local operators to efficiently deploy linear cells as a communication area along the path in order to construct wireless networks utilizing frequency resources, e.g., in millimeter wave bands.
The authors have conducted demonstration experiments to show the effectiveness of the linear cell deployment using a prototype system that a base station transmits radio signals to multiple RRHs (Remote Radio Heads) based on RoF (Radio-over-Fiber) technology.
In this paper, we report the results of a field trial of the RoF-based local network system using millimeter wave in railway environment. |
