Differential trellis-coded OFDM employing multiple differential detection with channel prediction for severe doubly-selective environment

(in English) This paper proposes differential trellis-coded orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) for severe time and frequency selectivity, i.e., doubly-selective environment. OFDM is a good solution for frequency selectivity and multiple differential detection employing per-survivor processing (PSP-MDD) with channel prediction is a good solution for time selectivity. However, channel prediction degrades the required signal to noise power ratio (SNR) for PSP-MDD. In addition, OFDM degrades tracking capability in fast time-varying channels because of intercarrier interference (ICI). In order to cope with these problems, this paper proposes OFDM by differential trellis-coded modulation (DTCM) and demodulated PSP-MDD with channel prediction. Finally, computer simulation results confirm that the proposed scheme can improve the required SNR and the tracking capability in doubly-selective environment.
