Photoacoustic imaging is a method to visualize the distribution of optical absorbers, chromophore. Vascular imaging of hemoglobin (a light-absorbing substance) has been the primary focus of research. Recently, imaging of light absorbers other than hemoglobin and quantification of blood information at various depths are among the current topics of research. The photoacoustic imaging and analysis of the photoacoustic signals have the potential to enable the imaging of chromophores that have not been visualized yet. |
