Volume Hologram mode De-Multiplexer (VHDM) using Volume Hologram (VH) is extremely cost effective because it can multiplex and separate mode-division multiplex signals at once, and is expected to be put into practical use. However, it has been reported that due to the limitation of the physical diffraction efficiency of VH, a coupling loss of about -1.3 dB occurs when demodulating from the higher-order mode to the basic mode. In this study, we tried to recover the dissipated power by displaying the phase obtained by the deconvolution method on the spatial light modulator on numerical simulation. As a result, coupling power was improved by up to 1.72 dB with respect to SMF, and the signal power could be compensated. |
