Video streaming services have spread widely and videos have been watched by mobile terminals in
addition to TV sets. In addition, 4K-UHD (Ultra High Definition) and VR (Virtual Reality) videos are provided
due to the extension of fixed and mobile bandwidth. However, since QoS (Quality of Service) is degraded due to
the congestion in the beset-effort-based communication services, QoE (Quality of Experience) is often degraded. To
prevent the degradation of service quality and the decrease of viewing time, OTT (Over The Top) try to incorporate
techniques that improve the quality. In this paper, quality-estimation and quality-control techniques are described,
which supports the evolution of video streaming services, and future work is described. |
