Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) The Proteus effect has been studied in virtual environments, which changes user's attitude and behavior by changing his/her own appearance.
Although the Proteus Effect has the potential to contribute to solve social problems such as psychological disorders, there are still no reports on its verification in the real world.
In this study, we propose an AR system Phantact to investigate the feasibility of the Proteus Effect in the real world.
As a solution to the problem of the short effective duration of the Proteus effect, the third-person perspective is introduced. As a result of the prototype system, it was confirmed that the user can see a virtual avatar as his/her own appearance in the third-person perspective.
