[Panel Discussion] Challenge of Amoeba-inspired Combinatorial Optimization Machines -- Promoting Efficient Manufacturing and Logistics for Realization of Society 5.0 --
Masashi Aono (Amoeba Energy) SR2020-51
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) The speaker has been developed combination optimization computers inspired by efficient foraging dynamics of an amoeboid organism. Many application tasks considered in the Cabinet Office’s proposal "Society 5.0", such as efficient automated transportation in smart factories and next-generation logistics, are formulated as combinatorial optimization problems. To tackle these tasks, he established Amoeba Energy Co., Ltd. in 2018 and led the collaborative research team to develop new computers "electronic amoebae" consisting of digital and analog circuits. Electronic amoebae are expected to find reliably and swiftly a solution to the complex problems, which have been hard for conventional digital computers.
