[Poster Presentation] Development of Computational Cost Reducing Technique for Physical Optics based Propagation Channel Simulator at mm-Wave band

(in English) To provide enhanced mobile broadband service for the 5th generation mobile communication system, the deployment of the millimeter-wave (mm-Wave) frequency band has attracted huge attention. However, wireless communication systems utilizing mm-waves are sensitive and fragile to tiny structures origin shadowing and scattering phenomena that a propagation channel simulator modeling the microscopic propagation environment becomes necessary. This study developed Physical Optics (PO) based propagation channel simulator using the polygon model reconstructed from the laser scanner measured point cloud of scatterer. The proposed algorithm quickly restricts the integration area near stationary phase point using the uniform distribution of point cloud measured by a laser scanner. The developed simulator is evaluated in terms of the normalized angular power spectrum (APS) by comparing with the indoor measurement result obtained by Multiple-Input-Single-Output channel sounder developed in this study. As a result, the predicted APS in black board and window blind scenario were in good agreement with the measured APS that the accuracy impact due to integration area restriction low enough.
