Experimental Study of UHF/SHF Dual-Band Semi-Lumped-Element Power Divider

(in English) The Wilkinson power divider is widely used as a circuit that divides microwave signals in the same phase, such as a power divider/combiner circuit in the front and rear stages of an amplifier, a phase shifter, and an antenna feeding circuit. With the explosive spread of IoT devices, which form the basis of ICT technology, and the practical application of 5G, higher performance such as miniaturization and multi-band of various microwave devices is required. The authors have reported on methods such as widening the bandwidth, unequal division, and increasing the output of lumped-element type power dividers using LC-ladder circuits. In this study, we treat a very simple lumped-element power divider with 9 elements that make up the circuit, and show that it is possible to design a circuit that matches at arbitrary two frequencies. Next, assuming that the two frequency ratio is 4, we design and analyze the circuit that operates in the UHF/SHF bands used in IoT and 5G (sub6 band). The effectiveness of the proposed circuit has been confirmed by fabricating and measuring a prototype circuit.
