Study on Uncertainty of Reflection Measurement Using a Six Port-Correlator

(in English) A six-port-correlator consisting only of power receiving elements can measure complex reflection and transmission coefficients from four power measurements and it's system parameters of the correlator.
Based on these principles, the six-port correlator based VNA consists of the six-port correlator at the core and simple devices such as oscillator and four power measurement devices, and is simpler and cheaper than general commercial VNAs.
In this report, we focus on four power measurements, which is highly dependent on the improvement of measurement accuracy.
In other words, the difference and magnitude of the four power measurements depend on both the complex reflection and transmission coefficients of a device under test, and the configuration of the correlator.
The increase or decrease of four power measurement values with the change of the complex reflection coefficents of the device under test was investigated, and the influence of four power measurements uncertainty on the measurement result of the complex reflection coefficient was verified theoretically.
