Optically-generated microwave detection by electric field sensor using Mach-Zehnder interferometer
Tomoyuki Uehara, Matsumoto Minagi, Kenichiro Tsuji (NDA) OFT2021-9
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) A microwave is generated by optical beat of two lasers connected with optical fibers for the purpose of transmitting and receiving microwaves in underground facilities (called radio wave insensitivity zones). The frequency stability of the generated microwaves of two lasers at 7 GHz is 2.2 KHz (10-second averaging time) at the square root of the Allan variance with frequency stabilization. And the generated microwave is radiated from a horn antenna, and the electric field strength and phase of the microwave are measured by an optical electric field strength sensor connected to the optical fiber.
