Mutual Coupling Reduction Between Dipole Antennas Using Mantle Cloak

(in English) Recently, systems such as mobile terminals and digital terrestrial television broadcasting, ITS, RFID are used in the UHF band. With the miniaturization and of the high-performance of wireless terminals, various systems are often placed in proximity in a narrow space. Because it is necessary to transmit information efficiently, even with this installation environment, techniques for reducing mutual coupling between antenna elements have become a vital research subject. In recent years, the reduction mutual coupling between antennas has been examined by using metamaterial. It has been reported that the mutual coupling between antennas can be sharply reduced in the vicinity of the operating frequency by using left-handed parasitic elements. However, the radiation characteristics of the antenna change at the operating frequency. On the other hand, it may be possible to maintain the antenna characteristics by using the mantle cloak technology that controls electromagnetic waves. In this paper, the mutual coupling reduction between dipole antennas using mantle cloak is investigated.
