High Efficiency Demodulation Scheme for In-band Full-duplex Using Heterogeneous Wireless Communication Schemes

(in English) The wireless smart ubiquitous network (Wi-SUN) is applied to a variety of wireless IoT networks. In the Wi-SUN, IEEE 802.15.4g-based frequency shift keying (FSK) modulation scheme is used as a low power consumption physical layer. On the other hand, IEEE 802.15.4g/4x-based orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) scheme becomes one of the candidates for the next generation physical layer for Wi-SUN to meet the increasing demand for high-speed transmission due to the diversification of applications. In the next generation Wi-SUN, the conventional FSK-based system and the new generation OFDM-based system will be operated in the same field. In this report, we consider constructing an in-band full-duplex (IBFD) communication system using these heterogeneous wireless communication systems, assuming that the base station transmits the OFDM signal while receiving the FSK signal simultaneously. To realize the IBFD-based FSK and OFDM hybrid Wi-SUN base station, we propose a high-efficiency demodulation scheme based on successive interference cancellation (SIC) scheme using characteristics of the FSK spectrum and OFDM frame.
