The objective of our research is to realize integer multiplier for the light orbital angular momentum (OAM) with high efficiency and high accuracy. In the proposed method, the OAM multiplication is realized by implementing a circular-sector transformation, whereby the cross-sectional circular shape of the OAM mode is geometrically transformed to circular-sector shape, using a spatial phase modulator (SLM). Since our method can be realized with a single-step geometrical transformation, the transformation efficiency and accuracy are much higher than those of conventional methods, and it could be a essential technology for OAM mode control. |
