With the growth of the IoT (Internet of Things) market in recent years, wireless devices in the 920MHz band have been implemented in home appliances and equipment used indoors. Since the equipment such as lighting and air conditioning system is set near construction materials such as the ceiling, wireless site planning should be done taking into account the installation environment in order to realize stable wireless link. This paper provides a path loss prediction formula for site planning when the devices are installed on the flat concrete ceiling, which is widely used in non-residential building such as factories and warehouses. The path loss prediction formula is derived from the simulation results by the FDTD (Finite Difference Time Domain) method and its effectiveness is confirmed by comparing with experimental result. |
