[Poster Presentation] A battery-less wireless vibration and physical shock sensing system using an edge processing for long-term measurements

(in English) This paper presents an UHF RFID based vibration/shock frequency sensitive tag using a simple tilt/vibration switches. Physical information around the sensor tag can be sensed by an RFID reader and control software. By switching between long radio wave radiation time and short radio wave radiation time, the problem of the RFID sensing method is solved. In the proposed method, even in the case where the number of times to read the sensor tag is reduced due to the short radio wave radiation time (standby mode), the initial stage of vibration generation can be detected. After that, this detection is used as a trigger to start high-precision sensing by increasing the radio wave radiation time and the number of sensor tag readings. By suppressing the radiation of electromagnetic waves in the standby mode, energy consumption will be reduced and CO2 gas emissions will be reduced. The purpose is to build a mechanism that can sense vibration/shock with high accuracy only when vibration/shock occurs and save data on the cloud only during this period. According to the experimental results, when shock/vibration occurs, we successfully perform edge processing on the RFID reader to measure shocks/vibrations with high sensitivity and save data only during this period.
