A Method of Service Function Chain Configuration to Minimize Computing and Network Resources for VNF Failures

(in English) With the increase in network management and operation costs, Network Function Virtualization (NFV) have attracted increasing attention from researchers. In virtualized netoworks, Virtual Network Functions (VNFs) is placed and controled by Service Function Chain(SFC). In recent years, VNF failures have a big impact on provisioning SFC, and may cause considerable damage to Network. In particular, there is a possibility of multiple VNF failures at the same time by a single failure of a physical device. In addition, The same type of VM (Virtual Machine) or VNF might cause multiple VNF failures in a geographically dispersed manner since the multiple similar VNFs are not able to be provided.This study proposes and evaluates a solution to the SFC configuration problem to ensure sustainability against multiple VNF failures and minimize the cost based on computing and network resource usage through simulation experiments.
