Experimental Evaluation of RSSI-Based 2D Localization Method Using 4-Element Circular Array and 180°/90° Hybrids

(in English) This paper reports an experimental evaluation of a two-dimensional localization only based on Received Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI) of the signal transmitted from the wireless beacon. We fabricated a four-element circular array and the beamformer network comprising several 180$^circ$/90$^circ$ hybrid circuits. We verified the a two-dimensional Direction-of-Arrival (DOA) estimation performance by testing them in an anechoic chamber. Experimental results in the indoor environment showed that 75$%$ value of the positioning error was 2.5 m.
