In order to meet the service requirements of high speed and large capacity (eMBB), multiple simultaneous connections (mMTC), and high reliability and low latency (URLLC), the fifth generation mobile communication system (5G) uses network slicing, which divides network resources and constructs virtual networks (network slices) in the 5G core network.
This network slicing enables the construction of network slices with different functions and performance for each service requirement, and each mobile terminal is connected to the appropriate slice according to the service requirement to provide the service.
In this paper, we propose a connection prediction technique based on machine learning for connection requests in which some information is missing.
This prediction technique uses stacking, which is an ensemble learning technique, to predict not only the network slice to which the connection request will be connected, but also the packet loss rate and transmission delay.
We also propose a dynamic resource allocation method that changes the resources of network slices according to the predicted connection requests.
We evaluate the performance of the proposed method by simulation and evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed method.
From the evaluation results, we investigate the effectiveness of the proposed method. |
