Estimations of emotional impression for emotion-evoking pictures using eye information
Minoru Nakayama (Tokyo Tech.) HIP2021-31
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Regression predicted ratings of valence and arousal for presented images were evaluated using relationships between oculo-motor features for emotion evoked images and actual ratings or image characteristics.
Relationships between averaged oculo-motor features or these 16 chronological changes and ratings for 67 emotion evoked photos were analysed. Predicted performance was evaluated using a metric of similarity between actual ratings and predicted ones.
The predicted performance increases with adding features of eye movement or extending chronological features. Individual factor influenced on the performance since deviation across observers was not small.
Also, mean similarities changed with predicted emotion category. Temporal features of oculo-motors were selected independently for valence and arousal in regards to their contribution.
