Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Although 2.5D musicals have grown in such popularity as to inspire their recognition as social phenomena, they are an alien concept to many Japanese individuals. This paper features a latent semantic analysis (LSA) of song lyrics, which was conducted to determine the appeal of the aforementioned musicals. First, the lyrics of songs performed in the 2.5D musical Touken Ranbu and those of popular Japanese songs were compared. Second, the lyrics of the songs featured in the musical were compared with those of the songs performed by Japanese pop idols. The final stage involved the LSA of the song lyrics in Touken Ranbu and the identification of appealing structures. The paper concludes with considerations about the allure of the 2.5D musical of interest and other performances of this type.
