Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Various object detection schemes utilizing channel state information (CSI) in wireless local area network
(WLAN) systems such as IEEE802.11ac have been investigated recently. To obtain further detection performance
improvement, adopting a proper feature selection technique is important. In this presentation, we propose
a WLAN-based object detection scheme using sequential CSI, where concatenated CSI containing current and
previously obtained CSI data is utilized to characterize the object behavior. In addition, we also propose a frequency-
domain interleaved sampling method to reduce the data size while maintaining the object detection accuracy. In
this method, a part of subcarriers are selected in an interleaved manner and machine learning based object detection
algorithm is carried out to detect the target object, so that object detection accuracy can be much improved while
reducing the total data size of sequential CSI. In this presentation, we demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed
approach through real-time experimental evaluations in an indoor environment scenario. Experimental results show
that the proposed approach is effective in improving the object detection accuracy while reducing the data size.
