A Study of Relaying Arrangement Considering Traffic of Sensors in Submarine Optical Wireless Networks

In recent years, seafloor optical wireless networks have been attracting attention as a means of enabling high-capacity communication on the seafloor. In a seafloor optical wireless network, sensor nodes generate data and send it to the nearest relay nodes using acoustic wave communications. After that, the data is transmitted to sink nodes via multiple relay nodes using the optical wireless communications. In this presentation, we assume that sensors are randomly placed on the seafloor and Slotted ALOHA is used as a medium control method in communications between sensor nodes and relay nodes. Under these assumptions, through simulation experiments, we clarify how the relay nodes should be deployed depending on traffics generated by the sensor nodes. |
