In order to cope with the recent increase in the number of wireless terminals and the consequent increase in data traffic, there is a growing demand for technologies to make effective use of wireless communication resources. The next generation standard IEEE 802.11be/EHT (EHT: Extreme High Throughput), known as Wi-Fi 7, is currently being developed with the aim of standardizing full-duplex wireless communication. One of the major issues in full-duplex wireless communication is the suppression of self-interference. This is because the self-interference power of the signal transmitted by the user is generally larger than the received signal power from other terminals. In particular, the existence of multiple transmitting and receiving antennas in MIMO communication systems, which are widely used today, makes the removal and suppression of self-interference signals even more difficult. In this research, we describe, implement, and verify the principle of null beamforming, which is a space division method for suppressing self-interference in MIMO communication systems using the IEEE 802.11 standard. We confirmed 15-20dB of interference suppression amount by using null beamforming. The verification results show that the null beamforming can replace the antenna canceller in a MIMO system. |
