In recent years, with the increase in the number of users of live streaming services, communication bandwidth has become tight, and the Quality of Experience (QoE) has degraded. In this presentation, we propose a server selection method to dynamically select a server to download video using deep reinforcement learning in a situation where multiple servers with different network environments are deployed. MPEG-DASH (MPEG-Dynamic Adaptive Streaming over HTTP) is used for the communication between the server and the user, and the video is downloaded with a quality suitable for the network environment and the user’s buffer capacity. In the proposed method, the deep reinforcement learning is used not only for server selection, but also for the selection of video quality. Through simulation experiments, we show that the proposed method can dynamically select the appropriate server and video quality, and improve the QoE. |
