In massive multi-input multi-output (mMIMO) orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems, the reduction of the high peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) is a challenging problem.
For mMIMO-OFDM systems, a peak canceller based PAPR reduction and its in-band distortion compensation technique utilizing the extra degree of freedom in mMIMO has been proposed, where error signal due to peak canceller is transmitted from extra antennas to receiver sides so that in-band distortion is automatically compensated at the receiver sides without any specific signal processing.
In this article, we investigate an adaptive in-band distortion compensation (AIDC) method for mMIMO-OFDM systems with deep PC, by selecting the number of extra antennas adaptively according to order modulations of each user and communication environments.
Specifically, we determine the number of extra antennas so that user sum-rate after in-band distortion compensation is maximized when each user selects the best order modulation.
Through simulation, we clarify that achieved data rate is improved by adaptively selecting the number of extra antennas for in-band distortion according to modulation order. |
