[Poster Presentation] Performance of Higher-order Multidimensional LDPC Coded QAM

(in English) In this paper, multi-dimensional coded QAM with low-density-parity-check (LDPC) codes is proposed. In recent years, combination of error correcting codes with QAM is widely employed in high-speed wireless communication systems. In this case, as the transmission rate increases, the error rate performance degrades and the peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) of the transmitted signal becomes larger because higher-order QAM is utilized. In this paper, we introduce the multi-dimensional coded modulation structure proposed by Wei, and apply LDPC codes as error correcting codes to reduce the PAPR and improve the error rate performance. Simulation results show that the multidimensional coded modulation with LDPC coding provides better error rate performance than the conventional multidimensional coded modulation with convolutional coding. It is also shown that the required signal-to-noise ratio to maintain 10^(-5) bit error rate can be improved by about 1 dB compared with that in conventional LDPC coded QAM.
