Optimal Neighbor Selection Proposal in Blochchain Networks with Multiple Regions

(in English) Blockchain is widely used for the platform of crypto-currencies represented by Bitcoin. In a Blockchain network (NW), shortening a block propagation time, which is defined as the propagation time for the mined block to reach all the nodes in the NW, is effective for reducing the fork rate, and various methods have been discussed in many papers for this purpose. This paper proposes a neighbor selection method for each node that keeps the number of neighbor nodes located outside the region fewer. This paper also shows the effectiveness of the proposed method for shortening block propagation times, by showing a block propagation model covering multiple regions. In addition, through the simulation results, quantitative effectiveness of the proposed method over an existing method is demonstrated.
