Quantum systems are characterized by density operators for the states, process operators for the time evolution, and POVM operators for the measurements. Quantum tomography is known as a standard measurement method for these operators, but the expectation values obtained by the measurement do not directly correspond to the matrix elements of operators, and numerical processing using the entire measurement results are required to obtain each matrix element. On the other hand, the measurement method in which each matrix element can be obtained by the expectation measurement is called direct measurement, in which each complex element of the matrix is characterized operationally. The diagrammatic representation that we proposed previously can unify the direct measurement system using projective measurements and the complex values obtained from the measurements. In this paper, we experimentally implement the measurement system derived systematically using the diagram representation, directly measure the density operator and POVM operator, and evaluate the results with the fidelity. |
