Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) In this study, we prototyped a mm-wave bioequivalent phantom and detected the phantom, which was buried in a snow layer in a snowy mountain, with a mm-wave FMCW radar, in Aomori Prefecture, in early May. The radar frequency bandwidth and radar height were changed for evaluation parameters. Results shows that reflections from the snow surface and phantom were clearly seen when the radar height was 2 m and the bandwidth was about 3.99 GHz (77-81 GHz). On the other hand, when the bandwidth was reduced to 1.921 and 1.125 GHz, the reflection from the phantom became unclear due to the deterioration of the distance resolution. When the radar height was set to 4 m, the reflection from the phantom was unclear even in the 3.99 GHz band. No reflection from the ground was seen in either case.
