Injection-Seeded Terahertz-Wave Parametric Generator with timing stabilized excitation

(in English) We have developed a low-timing-jitter high-repetition-rate injection-seeded terahertz-wave parametric generation (is-TPG). A pump source with a modulated semiconductor laser succeeded suppression of the timing jitter to about 30 ps which was about five orders of magnitude smaller than that of combinational is-TPG. A compact achromatic injection-seeding system, which was the length of one-third, was introduced to reduce the foot-print-size of the is-TPG to a portable one. The frequency tunable range from 1.7 THz to 3.0 THz was achieved. The average output power of the terahertz wave was 20 µW at a repetition rate of 30 kHz and a terahertz-wave frequency of 2.1 THz. The is-TPG with synchronization, compact size and the air-cooling would be a powerful tool for nondestructive testing.
