[Poster Presentation] A Study on Estimating TDoA of Sound in Reverberant Environment

(in English) The measurement of the time difference of arrival (TDoA) of sound is improved by coupling reverberation removal filters with the Cross-power Spectrum Phase (CSP) analysis. TDoA can be estimated accurately for an usual sound source and a pair of microphones by calculating CSP signal from sampled data on the microphones. The CSP signal, however, becomes noisy under the reverberant environment. By using the room acoustic simulations, we found that the CSP signal becomes clear again by applying a reverberation removal filter on each sampled data. The filter is first constructed by removing a time-delay component from a room impulse response (RIR) function, which is defined for each pair of a sound source and a microphone. Another method to construct the filter is also investigated, where a gaussian pop noise and a chirp signal are used to obtain an effective RIR function without the delay component.
