Effect of water droplet dynamics on the output of a droplet-based electricity generator

(in English) Droplet-based electricity generator (DEG) is attracting a great attention which can obtain instantaneous high electric power with a simple structure. In a DEG having a structure including a dielectric and an upper metal electrode on a conductive substrate, high-power generation can be obtained through the triboelectric charging between the droplets and the dielectric and electrostatic induction. These characteristics are thought to be affected by how the droplets wet and spread on the dielectric and metal electrodes. In this study, we prepared a DEG in which the droplets slide down on the dielectric. We investigated the effect of droplet dynamics on the DEG output voltage by examining the relationship between droplet area and its time change rate and the output.
