Expansion of optical phased array controlled only by wavelength sweep

(in English) Recently, there has been a great deal of interest in the development of sensing technologies for the realization of more advanced automated driving. One such technology, LiDAR, requires the elimination of mechanically moving parts for beam steering, and the use of optical phased array (OPA) based on silicon photonics has been proposed. The OPA can be designed to operate only by controlling the wavelength of the input light, which can significantly reduce the power consumption. However, it is vulnerable to phase errors caused by manufacturing errors of waveguide. In this talk we considered designs that can be used for large structures and demonstrated that beam steering control is possible for a 64-channel OPA.
