In recent years, a common key cryptosystem for the physical layer has been introduced in digital signals to keep the data handled by optical communication transceivers highly confidential. In this time, we propose a pseudo-phase noise symbol mask method in which the symbol distribution follows the Gaussian distribution in the phase direction using a time-spread encryption key for the symbol containing the data. To confirm the performance when applied to the dual polarized M-QAM signal of the pseudo-phase noise symbol masking method, we evaluated the bit error ratio (BER: Bit error ratio) by hard decision and the generalized mutual information (GMI: Generalized mutual information) amount eavesdropper attempts soft decision decoding using the likelihood. |
