Cyber attacks on IoT devices have caused damage such as information theft and malware infection.
In order to identify IoT devices, it is necessary to identify the characteristics of the banner information returned by the devices. In particular, some IoT devices are equipped with WebUI for management, and since WebUI (HTTP) banner information contains more information than banner information of other protocols, it is likely to contain features that are effective in identifying the category, vendor, model number, etc. of IoT devices. In addition, devices with similar WebUIs are likely to be devices of the same vendor or original products and OEM products, and the similarity of WebUIs as images is also an important indicator.
Therefore, in this study, we propose a method for identifying IoT device models by combining content information of WebUIs for IoT device management and image features, and report the results of evaluation using banner data actually collected from IoT devices on the Internet. |
