Attribute-based Encryption (ABE) can provide fine grain access control which is suitable for a shared file system such as the now popular cloud storage system. However, computation steps in ABE can be slow, and the acceleration of ABE is studied by first implement a file encryption system based on ABE and then outsource the computation to the pairing engine. The pairing engine implementation was done on FPGA and the design is based on previous work. The results have shown that the pairing engine can provide promising result and could be essential for ABE applications. |
