Optical Fingerprint Positioning System for VN-CSK Type Parallel Transmission Using RGB-LED

(in English) A variable N-parallel code shift keying system has been proposed as realizing the multiple-access function, the dimming control function and the positioning function.
The authors have proposed previously extension of VN-CSK system to the parallel RGB-LED transmission. In this system, Modified Prime Sequence Codes (MPSC) and Modified Pseudo Orthogonal M-sequence (MPOM) is used to remove the interference between color spectrum and co-channel interference.
In this paper, optical fingerprinting method for VN-CSK type RGB parallel transmission is considered. The authors evaluated positioning performance by simulation program when the grid width, defined as the interval to have the reference pattern, is changed. It is shown that the positioning error is about 0.3 times smaller than the grid width in the noise-free condition. When the signal-to-noise power (SNR) is 20[dB] and grid width is 100[cm], it is shown that the average positioning error is about 1.4 times larger than the performance in the noise-free case.
