Square-low detection schemes using pseudo-noise (PN) codes have been investigated. Two main schemes have been investigated: one is the on-off keying (OOK) scheme using optical orthogonal codes (OOC) as PN codes. The other is the Modified Pseudo-Orthogonal M-sequence (MPOMS) as PN code system using Sequence Inversion Keying (SIK). The synchronization system has not been considered in the previous studies. Therefore,in order to solve above the problems of improving the error rate characteristics and establishing a synchronization method, Square-low detection type M-ary modulation system using pseudo-orthogonal M-sequence pairs has been proposed. In this study, The theoretical formula of error rate is derived and its error rate performance is analyzed. Moreover, the error rate characteristics taking into account the synchronization error are evaluated. As a result, it is confirmed that the results of the theoretical analysis are good agreement with the results of computer simulations under perfectly synchronous conditions, and the validity of the theoretical analysis is confirmed. Furthermore,it is clarified that the error rate characteristics taking into account the synchronization error deteriorates rapidly when the variance of the synchronization error increases. When the number of code, M, in code-shift keying is 4 and the variance of the synchronization error is 0.04, it is shown that $E_b/N_0=10[dB]$ is required to achieve an error rate of $10^{-2}$. |
