Excitation of Traveling Wave on Metal Casing Using Folded Dipole Antenna

(in English) Multiple antennas have been installed on mobile devices. Frequency bands used for communication are shifting to higher frequency bands for high-speed data communication, and the size of the platform becomes larger than a wavelength. Antenna design becomes difficult to approach from excitation of the standing wave on the platform which resonates such as a half-wavelength dipole. This paper proposes the traveling wave antenna with a platform on which the surface wave propagates and radiates. The analysis results show the proposed antenna is expected that the radiation can be changed by changing the characteristics of the platform surface where the surface waves propagate.
