High efficiency wireless power transfer using high quality factor coil with novel superconducting wire Naoto Sekiya (Univ. Yamanashi) WPT2022-5 MW2022-5 |

We have developed an efficient wireless power transfer (WPT) system using a high-temperature superconductor (HTS) spiral coil with a high quality factor. The HTS spiral coil was fabricated using double-sided HTS wire. The double-sided HTS wire consists of two conventional HTS coated conductor wires. We used dielectric film tape to joining the two HTS tapes. The measured quality factor of the HTS spiral coil (16,000) was about 16 times higher than that of the copper coil (1,000). The PTE of the WPT system with the high quality factor HTS spiral coils showed significant improvement compared to the system with copper coils. |
