A Study on Digital Beam Forming Using Code Division Multiplexing by Waveguide Slot Array with Switchable Slot-pairs

(in English) This paper presents a novel waveguide slot array with switchable slot-pairs for digital beamforming. In the proposed antenna, multiple pairs of two longitudinal slots, each of which is symmetric with respect to the waveguide axis, are arranged, and a PIN diode is inserted into the center of each slot. Received signals at each slot-pair are multiplexed based on the code-division multiplexing by switching the status of the diodes according to the Walsh code, and they are separated by the digital signal processing. Feasibility of the proposed antenna is also
evaluated by simulation.
