Since it is hard to provide power to sensor nodes in wireless sensor networks (WSNs) after they are installed, their power con-sumption is required to reduce. Therefore, clustering schemes for WSNs have been proposed such as LEACH. However, be-cause cluster heads are determined randomly, the power consumption of each node is biased and the overhead for periodically changing cluster heads exists. To improve these problems, this paper proposes a clustering routing algorithm that under the power consumption model for each sensor node cluster heads are planned to approximately minimize the total power con-sumption of all the nodes. From the simulation experiments, the performance of the proposed algorithm is evaluated. |
