[Invited Lecture] Local 5G verification test on Shinkansen deadhead line

(in English) There is an increasing need for railway operators to monitor running trains remotely from Operation Control Center. 5G is a powerful solution for this need. Local 5G is an administrative system that allows companies, etc. to install a 5G system in their own buildings and site. However, in order to install the system into the railway field, it is required to verify the transmission characteristics that change dynamically in the railways environment. For example, transmission power, throughput, quality while a train is running.
In this verification test, a local 5G system was constructed along the Shinkansen deadhead line. Several tests were conducted assuming real-time video transmission from a moving Shinkansen to the ground. Specifically regarding transmission characteristics that change dynamically and video transmission in local 5G, we collected and analyzed data on the characteristics and verified the effects of the railway's unique environment. As a result, we achieved the maximum throughput according to the system specifications between the Shinkansen running on the deadhead line and the ground, and succeeded in transmitting 4K streaming video to the ground.
