Theoretical analysis of packet success rate considering packet synchronization timing gaps on energy-efficient on-demand WSNs

(in English) In on-demand wireless sensor networks (WSNs), a method has been proposed to improve packet success rate (PSR) performance, which combines packets from multiple sensor nodes close to the sensing target. To reduce the battery consumption of those nodes, we proposed a 3-mode based on-demand WSN added a new mode (down mode) in the past. In this system, synchronization timing errors among packets might be occurred due to differences in transmission distance. In this paper, it is performed a theoretical analysis of the PSR that takes into account the effects of inter-packet synchronous timing errors. As a result, it is shown that the theoretical equations are valid by comparisons with computer simulation results.
