Performance Evaluation of Passive Indoor Localization Exploiting Multipath Propagation

(in English) In our previous study, we developed a multipath RTI (Radio Tomographic Imaging) as a high-precision passive indoor positioning method for various applications for smart homes. This method utilizes a millimeter-wave radio system, which has an excellent resolution in delay and angular domains. It treats multipath components separately and uses them as virtual
nodes. That can significantly reduce the number of sensor nodes and achieve more accurate positioning than conventional methods. In this paper, we estimated the location of obstacles in the target area from the images produced by the multipath RTI and quantitatively evaluated the performance of the proposed method.
