On causes of secondary path estimation error destabilizing active noise control and stabilization measures

(in English) In this paper, we clarify the mechanism of secondary path estimation error destabilizing active noise control and present a method of stabilizing the performance of active noise control. The noise control is regarded as stabilized by applying a small step size to updating the coefficients of the noise control filter. The secondary path estimation error, however, generates another solution different from the optimum solution reducing the output of the error microphone to zero. The coefficients of the noise control are updated so as to approaching the other solution, and thereby the noise control is un-stabilized. In this paper, we show the reduction of the number of taps in the noise control filter to be effective.
